Last Sunday, we did something we have been wanting to do for a long time. And it exceeded every expectation we had.

In partnership with the team at BlueZone Fitness, we hosted our first Femily community event. What unfolded over the course of that morning was one of the most wholesome, energising days we have been part of in a long time.

The Workout

Around 45 women showed up. From their 20s to their 60s. From all different backgrounds, fitness levels, and starting points. Every single one of them got stuck in.

The session was set up across four stations: farmers carry, lunges, ski erg, and thrusters. Everyone worked in groups of four, alternating between running (or walking) and exercises at their own pace.

There were smiles everywhere. There was laughter. There was that unmistakable buzz that only comes when a group of people are moving together and enjoying it. That is not something you manufacture. It happened because the people in the room made it happen.

Food, Community, and a Few Good Goodies

After the workout, everyone fuelled up with a build-your-own acai bowl from Barrista Coffee in Carnew. A perfect excuse to slow down, chat, and enjoy the post-session glow.

Each person went home with a goodie bag including a beanie from Apec Sportswear, treats from First Batch Bakery and a supplement from Sisterly. We loved being able to shout out local and keep it close to home.

The Q&A

We sat down for a 60-minute panel with Orlaith and Lucy (that's us!), Cormac from BlueZone Fitness, and our special guest, Irish rugby star Amee-Leigh Costigan.

We covered everything from female health and fitness, to performance, leadership, and everything in between. The questions from the room were brilliant. The honesty was even better.

The feedback since has been moving. People told us they left with new information, new energy, new friends, and in some cases, a rekindled drive to get back moving again. That last one means everything to us.

such a fun chat!

Why We Did This, and Why We Will Do It Again

Femily has always been about more than content. It is about community. Women supporting women, showing up for each other, and proving that fitness is joyful, inclusive, and fun at any age, any level.

Sunday was proof of that. We are already thinking about what comes next.

If you were not there this time, do not worry. We plan to do it again. Stay close, and in the meantime, check out some of the moments from the day on our Instagram.
